Open Doors Academy isOpen door seeking an Encore Fellow to develop a research and innovation team, strengthening overall organization analytics, create systems for reporting information both into the organization and externally to stakeholders, leveraging skill set to serve as a knowledge hub for educational support systems for kids, and preparing the organization to undergo a randomized control study, with the ultimate goal being to obtain recognition through the What Works Clearing House and the US Department of Education.

Open Doors Academy works to protect, inspire, nurture and challenge adolescents to reach their full potential through the provision of meaningful out-of-school enrichment programming in a safe and structured environment..

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with CEO to establish a Evaluation Advisory Committee to serve as a sounding board for the development of a randomized control study
  • In partnership with the CEO, analyze ODA's current evaluation system and development of a research arm to strengthen the overall practices of the organization and to establish credibility in the field
  • Analyze and determine short-term and long-term organizational structure needs for successfully supporting and implementing the evaluation
  • Establish and train staff on data management (administration, collection, analysis, and distribution) procedures and policies
  • Articulate learning objectives; develop high-level evaluation questions
  • Identify potential funding partners and third-party evaluators, including establishing a formal partnership Cleveland State University or Case Western Reserve University. 
  • Make recommendations to CEO for building an R&I team, with timeline, for building a strong research and evaluation team

Term: 1,000 hours over a 12 month period

Location: Cleveland, OH

Stipend: $20,000/year

Open Doors Academy isOpen door seeking an individual who can work with us to explore and analyze options for agency expansion future growth.  A number of opportunities are available to us (starting programs at the elementary school level, serving more schools, serving more students within a school, establishing a training program for other professionals, etc.)  ODA is seeking an individual with experience in strategic growth and development of business plans to evaluate our options (including developing associated business plans) and assist the Board and staff in navigating the appropriate path forward.

  • Develop "pricing model" for ODA programs and services, and cost-per-participant
  • Explore scope of program expansion, depth, breadth and focus; align with evaluation design and evaluation findings
  • Explore opportunities to build partnerships to expand reach
  • Establish budget for each option, resources inventory, and recommended timeline for future growth
  • Make recommendations for future growth, including timeframe for growth, and needed infrastructure and funding for growth.
  • Upon CEO and Board Review, along with recommendations from consultant, determine final pathway and establish business plan for further developing and carrying out growth plan.   

Term: 1,000 hours over a 12 month period

Engage ClevelandEngage!Cleveland is seeking an Encore Fellow to help grow the non-profit organization's relationships with the business community. Fellow will develop programs and grow revenue by seeking grants, completing sponsorship request and selling membership.

Engage! Clevelandis a resource for Cleveland's young professionals to connect to the organizations, nonprofits, events, businesses and individuals that will help them become better integrated to the city. Founded in 2012, Engage! Cleveland got its start as a collaboration between the business community and some young professionals who noticed a need for an initiative that would raise Cleveland's profile as a top destination for YPs to begin and advance their careers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the organization in growing their relationships with the business community. Employers have always been a stakeholder group at Engage! Cleveland, but in prior years more emphasis has been placed on young professionals.
  • Create relationships in the business community
  • Build EC's membership base
  • Develop programs/events to serve Engage! members and their employees.

Term: 1,000 hours over a 12 month period

Location: Cleveland, OH

Stipend: $20,000/year

The ideal candidate will have significant professional achievement in either the corporate or nonprofit sector, with proven experience in sales and marketing.
