BVU offers customized board training presentations to address the particular and timely concerns and issues facing a nonprofit. Specific topics include the role and responsibilities of serving on a board, best practices in nonprofit governance, fund development, strategic planning, leadership succession planning and the roles of advisory boards. This is a free service for BVU's nonprofit members.
Board Consulting Services
BVU conducts board consultations for board and staff leaders of nonprofit organizations. The board assessment process engages the full board in a discussion around best practices in governance. BVU then prepares recommendations and facilitates a process with the board to strengthen its own performance. BVU charges a fee for this service.
Leadership Succession Consulting Services
BVU staff provides leadership succession and transition planning consulting for nonprofit staff and boards, including the development of emergency succession plans, long-range staff succession plans and board succession plans. BVU charges a fee for this service.
