Case Study: Care Alliance Health Center

BVU Matches Professional Talent With Nonprofit Need

How does a nonprofit tackle a project when it doesn't have extra money to hire someone to do it?  Care Alliance enlisted the help of a talented volunteer who was in transition between jobs, and who had the specific expertise to complete this complicated task.

The Challenge

How does a nonprofit tackle a project when it doesn't have extra money to hire someone to do it?  Care Alliance enlisted the help of a talented volunteer who was in transition between jobs, and who had the specific expertise to complete this complicated task.

How BVU Helped

BVU recruited and identified an executive from the healthcare software solutions industry who happened to be in between jobs.  He volunteered to provide his expertise and facilitate a discussion with the Care Alliance leadership team to develop a decision tree to help them make the right vendor choice.

The Lasting Impact

Care Alliance was thrilled to connect to a volunteer whose relevant experience helped them accomplish a complicated project.  The volunteer found it rewarding to give back by using the skills he has developed in his professional career, especially since he had the time to give while he was in job transition.  He also was able to develop connections to his community, something that has been challenging since he has traveled extensively for work.
