President and Chief Executive Officer

Brian consults with nonprofit organizations on human resource  matters, as well as leads BVU. He serves as President of The  City Mission board and as Governance Chair for Youth  Opportunities Unlimited. Brian has a Bachelor of Science in  Accounting from Case Western Reserve University.

Coordinator, Volunteer Center

As the Volunteer Center Assistant, Ann provides administrative support to the Volunteer Center at BVU by assisting nonprofits in promoting volunteer opportunities online; linking individuals and community groups to volunteer opportunities at nonprofits throughout Northeast Ohio. She serves on the Board at Incarnate Word Academy where she previously volunteered on various committees as well as several committees at Saint Ignatius High School.

Julie ClarkJulie Clark

Senior Director, Leadership Development

Julie oversees BVU's board matching program, where she interviews and refers professionals for positions on nonprofit boards of directors. She also provides board development consulting and management assistance services to nonprofits. She serves on the Board of South Suburban Montessori School. Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Baldwin-Wallace College and a Master of Arts in Communications Management from John Carroll University.

Senior Director, Business Engagement

Roseanne works with BVU's 130+ business members to establish and enhance strong community involvement programs and engage employees at all levels in volunteerism. Roseanne serves on the Board of Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition and the Ideastream Community Advisory Board. She has previously served on the Franklin County Alcohol and Drug and Mental Health Board and has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from John Carroll University and a Masters in Public Administration from The Ohio State University - School of Public Policy and Management.

Heather Englander2Heather Englander

Director, Volunteer Center

Heather refers direct service volunteers from businesses and the community at large to assist nonprofit organizations with short term or long term volunteer projects. Her past experience includes over 10 years of project management, design, and event planning. Heather has a BA in Art History from the College of Wooster and served as an AmeriCorps volunteer for two years with Habitat for Humanity as a site supervisor and volunteer coordinator. She has diverse volunteer background and is actively engaged with the Cleveland Metropark System.

Director, Leadership Development

Lauren interviews and refers business executives for positions on nonprofit boards of directors and provides management assistance services to nonprofits . Lauren is currently serving on the Board of The Phillip DeVito Foundation and has previously served on The Centers for Family and Children's Associate Board. She holds a BSBA in Accounting from John Carroll University.

Kerianne works with BVU's 130+ business members to establish and enhance strong community involvement programs and engage employees at all levels in volunteerism. Kerianne serves on the Board Development Committee of Seeds of Literacy, where she previously served as Board President, and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and a Master of Arts in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago.

ann kentAnn C. Kent

Vice President, Nonprofit Engagement

Ann consults, educates, and provides assistance to strengthen the governance and management of nonprofits across the full industry spectrum. She oversees and develops BVU's schedule of 40+ seminars annually. Ann serves in leadership positions on the Board of Directors of Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Ohio Buckeye Chapter. Ann is also on the Council of Editorial Advisors for BoardSource. Ann has a Bachelor of Music from Florida State University and a Master of Business Administration from Cleveland State University.

Sarah supports BVU's Business Engagement and Board Matching teams and provides overall administrative help as needed. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Event Planning and Tourism with a minor in Italian from Bowling Green State University.

Director, Communications and Technology

Melanie manages BVU's database, maintains the website, evaluates BVU's technology use and needs, and recommends and implements technology upgrades. She directs BVU communications, creating marketing materials and coordinating perception studies, survey materials and feedback from BVU's constituencies.

denise obrienDenise O'Brien

Vice President, Administration

Denise manages all finances, accounting, budgeting, reporting, payroll and human resources for the organization. Denise has been with BVU since inception in 1993 and is part of the senior leadership team. Denise's education and experience in organizational development and continuous quality improvement began in the hospitality industry. She has had fifteen years of hospitality management experience with a strong start-up and pre-opening background with major hotel chains, opening hotels all over the country. She currently serves on the board of The Ohio Boychoir, as well as several volunteer committees.

kimberly simpson-keeKimberly Simpson-Kee

Director, Nonprofit Engagement

Kimberly is responsible for coordinating BVU's services to nonprofits in the Greater Akron area, including understanding and tracking the nonprofit need for BVU services, managing the Roger Read Resource Center and planning and coordinating the implementation of educational seminars which train and engage business and nonprofit leaders in the community. Her past experience includes over seven years of healthcare marketing, program development, process improvement and community fundraising. Kimberly holds a Master's of Science in Exercise Physiology from The University of Akron.

Senior Director, Pro Bono Consulting

Judy provides oversight of BVU's Pro Bono Corps Program where she connects skilled business volunteers to capacity building and management projects within the nonprofit sector. She also consults, with nonprofit organizations to develop succession plans for staff leadership. Judy previously served as Enrichment Chair of the Communion of Saints School Advisory Committee and formerly as the Second Vice President on the Board of Directors for Cleveland Women's City Club Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications Management from the University of Dayton.

Kathryn coordinates governance, board development consulting and education services to strengthen nonprofits through BVU's Nonprofit Consulting Center, oversees BVU's grants management systems and assists in the coordination of BVU's nonprofit membership services.

Biz VoudourisElizabeth Hosler Voudouris

Executive Vice President

Elizabeth provides governance training to nonprofit board members and leaders, governance consulting and management assistance services to strengthen nonprofits, and oversees BVU's Nonprofit Consulting Center. She serves on the Board of Laurel School and the Advisory Board for Campus International School. She has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and a Master of Arts in History from Kent State University.
