BVU: THE CENTER FOR NONPROFIT EXCELLENCE AND ICF CLEVELAND PARTNER FOR INTERNATIONAL COACHING WEEK
Area Nonprofits Will Receive Free Professional Development Coaching
Cleveland, Ohio - May 8, 2016- BVU: The Center for Nonprofit Excellence and the International Coaching Federation Cleveland Chapter are again partnering to provide free professional development coaching to nonprofit leaders in northeast Ohio. During International Coaching Week (May 16 - 22, 2016), the International Coach Federation (ICF) invites individuals and organizations from around the world to "Experience Coaching." International Coaching Week is intended to educate the public about the value of working with a professional coach and to acknowledge the results and progress made through the coaching process.
"International Coaching Week is a great opportunity for our local coaching community to give back to our community," said Cathy Geib, president of ICF Cleveland. "Last year's volunteers had such a positive experience that participation of our members is up 30 percent this year."
ICF Cleveland coaches will be matched with local nonprofit leaders. A pro bono, three-session coaching engagement will begin during International Coaching Week and will conclude by mid-July. Nonprofits will receive coaching in the areas of time management, strategic thinking, decision making, executive presence, delegation and many more.
Last year, the first year that International Coaching Week was celebrated locally, ICF Cleveland member coaches provided more than $25,000 in free coaching to 19 leaders of area nonprofits.
"Our partnership with ICF Cleveland is making an incredible impact in the nonprofit community. The nonprofit leaders who received coaching last year were able to implement the coaching advice immediately." said Judy Tobin, Sr. Director, Pro Bono Consulting at BVU. In May, 28 nonprofit professionals will be connected to coaches. This is a tremendous benefit for nonprofit leaders to put these new skills into place and continue to advance their organization's mission."
