300 interns and young professionals to volunteer at “Summer of Service” Day
Monday, July 16, 2012
300 young professionals from 17 local businesses and organizations will volunteer at nonprofits during BVU’s 6th “Summer of Service” event on July 18, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. With this year’s service day theme of “Local Foods for a Sustainable Northeast Ohio,” the volunteers will roll up their sleeves to plant, harvest and maintain urban farms and community gardens to support the local food economy in Northeast Ohio. While BVU works with employers year-round to engage their employees in meaningful volunteer service, the annual Summer of Service event is specifically targeted as an opportunity for employers to connect their interns and young professionals to meaningful community service.
