Tribe continues to make Cleveland thankful: New Indians Volunteer Challenge among highlights of '10 (11/30/10)

CLEVELAND -- Through their charity and outreach programs, the Cleveland Indians do a ton of work in the community each year.

But an added component to those efforts this year was a new initiative -- one in which the fans did the work, then reaped the benefits in the form of free tickets provided by the Tribe.

In 2010, the Indians Volunteer Challenge, in which the Tribe partnered with Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU), arose as a means to reward community members for their volunteer service. Fans completed a minimum of four volunteer hours in the Greater Cleveland area after registering online and selecting volunteer opportunities that interested them. Once the projects were approved, completed and the hours verified, the participants were awarded game tickets to Progressive Field.
